Rosie O'Donnell fires back at Donald Trump as White House brands her a 'slob'
Rosie O'Donnell has responded after the White House took aim at her following a week of jokes about Donald Trump on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
The 64-year-old comedian posted a photo of Trump to Instagram on Sunday, August 23, alongside a short response to the White House's description of her as a ‘total slob’.
The post came after White House spokesperson Davis Ingle criticized O'Donnell over comments she made during her stint as guest host of the late-night show, escalating a feud between the comedian and the president that has continued for years.
PEOPLE reported on August 20 that Ingle had described O'Donnell as 'a nasty woman and a total slob whose brain has been completely destroyed by Trump Derangement Syndrome.'

O'Donnell appeared to respond to the insult by sharing a photograph of Trump and writing: "This is the guy calling me a slob #mirrormirror."

The White House comments followed O'Donnell's Wednesday monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she mocked Trump's conduct and appearance while discussing his administration.
During the segment, she referred to him as ‘President Petty Roosevelt’ and told him to ‘hang up your wig’ and allow White House aide Natalie Harp to ‘tuck you in.’
Those comments were part of a broader run of jokes during O'Donnell's four-night guest-hosting appearance, which marked her return to hosting a talk show.
She also used nicknames including ‘Mango Mussolini’ and ‘Oompa J. Loompa’ while addressing Trump.
O'Donnell's jokes eventually turned musical when she performed a parody of a century-old Irish folk song, directing its lyrics at the president.
"Poor Donnie boy, your polls, your polls are falling. Your reflecting pool is green as Mountain Dew. Your wig's a mess, your ballroom is appalling," she sang.
The performance referenced Trump's poll numbers and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

O'Donnell and Trump have been publicly feuding since the mid-2000s, with the president continuing to reference the comedian years after their initial clashes.
Trump mentioned O'Donnell during the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner on July 24, calling her ‘a sick young woman, sick older woman, I guess now I have to say.’
The comedian discussed their unusual history in her July PEOPLE cover story, describing the fact that their long-running dispute eventually involved Trump becoming president as ‘very trippy.’
"If you had written this as a movie, a stand-up comic makes fun of a reality show host, and he ends up being the president, and then he doesn't shut up about her for 20 years, it would be unbelievable," O'Donnell told PEOPLE.
Her latest television appearance came as Jimmy Kimmel Live! host Jimmy Kimmel continued his summer break.
O'Donnell wrapped up her guest-hosting duties on Thursday, August 20, following appearances by Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz and Anthony Anderson.
The show airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
