A plane passenger captured 'intriguing' footage of a 'UFO' flying over New York.
Michelle Reyes was on a commercial airline flight above LaGuardia Airport on March 25, when spotted a ‘flying cylinder’.
She took to Facebook the following day to share the video and wrote: "I saw a ufo coming home yesterday! Can anyone help me identify what this is?!"

Of course, this generated a lot of theories from social media users on what the bizarre flying thing could be.
Talking to NewsNation on Wednesday (April 24), Michelle said: “The first thing I did was email the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] to let them know what I saw.
“Maybe it was a safety hazard, but unfortunately I haven’t heard back from them, they didn’t acknowledge my email.”
And it wasn’t just Michelle that noticed the inanimate object in the sky as she claimed another person also saw it.

“It’s a little nerve-wracking that someone else saw what I saw,” she added.
Thomas Wertman, of the Mutual UFO Network in Ohio, has since looked at the footage that was captured, and said the dark object was quite close to the plane that was getting ready for landing.
He claimed that it’s unlikely it would have been a helicopter or a drone, due to the location and shape as well as it flying next to a major commercial flight path.

He told the New York Post: “Drones aren’t supposed to fly at that altitude at least legally.
“If it were something related to [military] defense or law enforcement, you normally wouldn’t see it so close to a major flight lane.
“That could be a potential hazard.”

Thomas has spent a lot of his career studying evidence in the sky for UFO sightings and other interplanetary visitors.
He added: “It does not appear to be a commercial aircraft because I don’t see features like wings or a tail.”
The abnormal round shape caught his eye which he described as ‘intriguing’ as it debunks the theory that it was just another plane filmed from a slightly strange angle.
He also reported that the footage didn’t seem to have been edited in any way.

Thomas said: “It’s a very intriguing image. It needs more research.”
However, it’s not quite time to get freaked out just yet, as there are a couple of theories that the UFO expert couldn’t rule out.
These include the possibility of high-flying wildlife or weather balloons, which he can’t disprove without metadata from the video footage. This would help him gain clues about the direction of the plane and the precise time of the sighting.
As per the New York Post, a Federal Aviation Administration official said the agency had ‘no reports’ from pilots about the puzzling sighting.
UNILAD has contacted the Federal Aviation Administration for further comment.
