The founder of PayPal Peter Thiel has raised some eyebrows after giving a simple question about the future of humanity.

Billionaire Peter Thiel had some rather interesting comments when asked about the future of humanity in a new interview.

Last month, Thiel spoke with Ross Douthat on his YouTube channel and was asked about

While speaking with Ross Douthat the pair got to talking about artificial intelligence and its role in society going forward.

Douthat threw out a rather simple question that most would expect would be an easy answer, but Thiel seemed to hesitate in a rather dramatic fashion.

A clip of this moment has started circulating on social media and it is pretty much giving people the creeps.

The host asked Thiel ‘You would prefer the human race to endure, right?’

Thiel hesitated, doing some umm-ing and ahh-ing, even at one point saying ‘I don’t know’.

The billionaire went on to clarify and said: “Yes [I would like us to endure] but I also would like us to radically solve these problems.

“It is always, you know... trans-humanism, this radical transformation where your human natural body gets transformed into an immortal body.”

Speaking on how in society people are able to change their genders, Thiel goes on to essentially say we should strive to go beyond that.

He went on to add: "It's not that it's weird or unnatural, man is so pathetically little and we want more than cross-dressing or changing our sex organs, we want to be able to change your heart, your mind and change your whole body."

So yeah... Thiel has definitely got some big plans for where humanity could be but the way he conveyed them didn’t go down well on social media.

One Reddit user simply wrote: “F****** sociopaths.”

Another added: “He wants the human race to endure but he gets to decide who to purge to create his utopia. Dude is bats*** insane.”

A third added: “That was a softball of a question and yet he fumbled it absolutely abysmally.”

While one rather concerned user commented: “Hes funding projects like how to transfer human consciousness, eternal life and how to grow clones and de-age. He wants 90% to die out so he can be overlord."

However, another comment did attempt to defend Thiel and said that he was asked multiple questions at once with the host then bringing attention to his stuttering.

They commented: “I watched the interview. He was asked multiple questions at once, possibly causing a buffer in his brain.

“He said yes the human race surviving shortly after this.

“He does also look like a reptilian.”

UNILAD has contacted Peter Thiel's representatives for comment.
