Police are searching for a woman from Florida, who sent a heartbreaking final message to her mom before she disappeared.

Ganna Kovrizhnykh, 38, last made contact with her family on July 5. She was on a road trip through San Diego County.

She was later reported missing on July 12 and her vehicle - a Jeep Grand Cherokee - and trailer were discovered, abandoned in Potrero, which is close to the Mexican border.

Just days before, Ganna's mother had received a photograph of a letter, supposedly written by Ganna.

Over on a National Missing and Unidentified Persons System post, authorities explain: "On 07/05/2025, Kovrizhnykh's mother received a photograph of a letter along with GPS coordinates from Potrero, California.

"The letter essentially provided instruction to give her personal assets to her mother.

"On 07/12/2025, Kovrizhnykh's Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were found apparently abandoned near the 25000 block of Potrero Park Drive."

Speaking to KNSD, Sergeant Jacob Klepach explained that police do not currently know if foul play was involved with Ganna's disappearance.

"We believe she was just kind of touring the country and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back to her vehicle," he said.

"We don’t really have any belief one way or another at this point if there is foul play involved or if she just strictly voluntarily left."

Photos of Ganna - who also goes by the name Angel Volnaya - have been shared, including ones of her tattoos. She is five feet and five inches tall, weighs 100 pounds, has blonde hair and blue eyes and may be wearing a wig.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers also issued a post on Ganna, explaining that a $1,000 reward is now being offered.

"Ganna Kovrizhynkh was reported missing to the Sheriff's Office by a friend on July 12, 2025. Family members say they last heard from Kovrizhynkh on July 5 while she drove through San Diego County as part of a cross-country trip. Her vehicle and trailer were later found unattended in Potrero," they explain.

"Kovrizhynkh's current whereabouts and status are unknown. Sheriff's Detectives say it is possible she may have crossed the U.S./Mexico border into the Tecate area of Baja California, Mexico.

"At this time, the circumstances surrounding Kovrizhnykh disappearance are unclear, and it is unknown whether she is a voluntarily missing person or if criminal activity is involved."

Police are urging anyone with information about Ganna's whereabouts to come forward. You can call the San Diego County Sheriff's Office at (858) 868-3200.
