Truth about Melania Trump’s visa has people calling the president a ‘hypocrite’ over ‘vicious immigrant campaign’

Melania Trump has had her visa questioned, with one Democrat taking brutal shots at the First Lady.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, had her visa status called into question and people on social media have also started to query it.

Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett questioned the Trump administration’s intense mass deportation policies as she questioned whether Melania was given special treatment.

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on June 25, she accused the government of ‘snatching’ visas off legal citizens.

She went as far as to challenge her Republican colleagues on the Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Subcommittee, and asked them why they weren’t as concerned about integrity when it came to the President’s family.

Melania moved to the U.S. on her EB-1 visa, nicknamed the Einstein visa. It holds this name because it is often afforded to those who have won a Pulitzer, Oscar, or Olympic award, as well as those highly acclaimed in their field, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Crockett made a point of arguing that Melania did not appear to fall into any of these categories ahead of getting this visa.

Melania would eventually become a US citizen in July 2006.

Crockett said: “You’re supposed to have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer, being an Olympic medalist, or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.

“Melania, the first lady, a model – and when I say model, I’m not talking about Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford or Naomi Campbell-level – applied for and was given an EB1 visa.

“It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that the math ain’t mathin’ here.”

Social media users have reflected on the fact that Melania’s Trump’s visa is being put under the spotlight, with some agreeing with Crockett and condemning Trump for his intense rhetoric despite this.

Some have condemned the president and accused him of being a hypocrite due to his very firm stance on immigration both from local surrounding nations and further abroad.

One Reddit user commented: “The profound hypocrisy of Donald Trump's vicious campaign against immigrants when his first and third wives were immigrants.”

Another said: “Can you imagine if the turns were tabled and it was a Democratic candidate with the same immigrant and nuptial situation? Boy howdy…”

A third commented: “Send her [to] Guantanamo Bay!

“Or is that only for poor illegal immigrants? Those married to rich people get different treatment?”

While another joked: “Looking forward to seeing video of her tackled outside of her favorite nail salon by ICE thugs in masks.”
