Biffle's longtime friend Garrett Mitchell, better known as his alter ego Cleetus McFarland, also confirmed the tragic news and stated the family was on its way to meet him before the plane went down.

Writing on Facebook, Mitchell wrote: "Unfortunately, I can confirm Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, daughter Emma, and son Ryder were on that plane...because they were on their way to spend the afternoon with us. We are devastated. I'm so sorry to share this."
Christina’s mother, Cathy, also spoke to People about the tragedy and revealed the last text she received from her daughter.
She told the outlet that before the family died, Christina sent a text that read ‘we’re in trouble’.
While crying, Cathy explained: “She texted me from the plane and she said, 'We're in trouble.' And that was it.
“So we're devastated. We're brokenhearted."
She also noted that the family was reportedly on a ‘birthday trip’ in Florida.
She continued: “To think that they would be killed on a birthday trip, that was just such a fun time for the family.
“And to see the horrific way that it ended, it's just, it is so hard to bear. I cannot believe they're gone."

She also noted that Cristina and Greg were at her house only the day before.
She explained: “I don't remember what the last words that I said to my daughter or to Greg or to my precious Ryder.
“I don't remember. I know we hugged, but I don't remember those last words and that's going to haunt me. But they were happy."
Regarding the crash, an eye witness at the scene near to Lakewood Golf Club told local news outlet WSOC, that the plane was flying "way too low" before the crash.
It crashed at around 10:15am and immediately burst into flames.
