A Democratic Party strategist has said the Trump administration could be in its final days as he argued that Elon Musk is damaging their popularity.

Political consultant James Carville has recently been rather confident in his predictions of Donald Trump’s White House team being about to crumble.

He is so confident, in fact, that he stated that the Democrats don’t need to do much more than ‘play possum’ and watch the situation unfold.

The 80-year-old author recently said the whole thing could come crumbling down in as little as 30 days.

Carville has now issued another prediction, this time involving billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk and highlighting an apparent negative impact he has had on the Trump camp.

Speaking to Chris Cuomo on Monday, he said that Musk - who oversees the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) - will ‘be the greatest generator, let me say this very specifically, the greatest generator of Democratic turnout ever, more than Barack Obama’.

He added: “Musk will turn out more Democrats than Obama could, and I understand the gravity of that statement, but if he keeps going, that’s what’s going to happen.”

When Cuomo asked for why this was, Carville explained he has recently seen data that suggests it is the case.

He continued: “I was privy to some data that in a very critical state, and the Musk stuff is like nothing I’ve ever seen in the history of polling. Like, nothing. And we’re a month into the game.”

However, the strategist didn’t go into more detail about the data.

This echoes a similar sentiment he said when he spoke to Mediaite’s Dan Abrams about Trump’s falling approval and how it is beneficial to Democrats.

He said: “We’re in the midst of a collapse. This is the lowest approval—not even close—that any president has ever had at a comparable time."

Carville continued to say Democrats simply need to ‘hold fire’ because in six weeks things will be ‘easy pickings’.

As you can imagine, Trump hasn’t taken the questions surrounding his popularity very well.

Taking to his own social media platform, Truth Social, the president hit back saying he had the 'best polling numbers' he's ever had before calling Carville a 'loser'.

He continued: “The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do,” Trump wrote. “They have lost their confidence and spirit - They have lost their minds!”
