Members of the public have shared their thoughts after Donald Trump's administration made a very clear display of the work it has been doing in the president's first 100 days back in office.

Trump is set to mark his 100th day back in the White House tomorrow (April 29), and during that time he's signed a whole host of executive orders, attempted to make peace between Ukraine and Russia, and fought to make Canada the 51st state.

On top of all that, the president has also been targeting criminals and people found to be living illegally in the US.

Many immigrants have been arrested and deported from the country as a result, and while some of those taken in by officers have made headlines, others have been more under the radar - but Trump's administration has been keeping track and is now putting its arrests on display.

The lawn of the White House is now home to a series of signs, each baring a mugshot-style photo above which reads the word 'arrested'. Below the photo features the crime the person has been accused of, including crimes of sexual assault and murder. At the bottom of each poster is The White House’s official logo.

An image of the new display was shared on Twitter by Kaelan Dorr, Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Deputy Communications Director, who wrote: "White House lawn looks a little different this AM. And they say yard signs don’t win elections…"

Though many of Trump's supporters have praised the president for taking action against illegal immigrants, many internet users have hit back at the display with one question: how much did it cost the taxpayer?

Replying to Dorr's post, one person asked: "How much did that cost?"

"What a goddamn waste of taxpayer dollars," another wrote, as a third tagged Trump's Department of Government Efficiency and added: "Hey @doge, I found waste of tax payer money."

Other Twitter users described the stunt as 'propaganda', with one simply adding: "This is disgusting."

The lawn signs come after Trump said in an interview with Fox Noticias that he wanted to give people living illegally in the US an incentive to leave, saying: "We’re going to give them a stipend. We’re going to give them some money and a plane ticket, and then we’re going to work with them — if they’re good — if we want them back in, we’re going to work with them to get them back in as quickly as we can."
