A man caused a stir at a press conference at the White House yesterday as he collapsed right next to president Donald Trump.

On Thursday (November 6), the White House held a press conference with drug makers to expand coverage and reduce prices for obesity treatments Zepbound and Wegovy.

Weight loss drugs have shot up in popularity in recent years, however, most recently Americans have complained about the expensive costs of these subscription-based drugs.

Eli Lily and Novo Nordisk announced that a deal had been struck with the president to slash the prices of their weight-loss drugs for the government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs.

The cuts the government said would reduce prices to between $149 and $350 a month on average for Americans.

While this will be good news for many, the attention was briefly stolen after a man fainted during the press conference.

The man was immediately helped and laid on the floor by those around him, including Dr Mehmet Oz.

It is not clear what was the reason for the collapse. Karoline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, told reporters that the man was a guest of one of the health care companies in attendance.

The moment was captured on camera and people can’t help but talk about Donald Trump’s reaction to the whole incident.

While people rushed in to help the fallen man, and Leavitt attempted to usher out the press, Trump stood over the man without moving or saying anything.

One photo also captured a brief moment where Trump simply faced the audience, looking forward, while first aid was administered.

This image has begun to spread on social media and have made light of the situation.

One person on Reddit wrote: “Just replace the guy on the floor with America and we have the prefect painting for 2025.”

Another joked: “[Trump’s] not scripted for dynamic events. It'll be better to just to restart the quest so you don't corrupt your save.”

A third was very critical of the image and said: “This photo perfectly encapsulates the Trump admin in 2025. Humans empathetic for someone in trouble, while Trump stands by vaguely annoyed that it isn’t about him.”

In a statement following the incident, Leavitt made it clear that the man was later okay.

She said: “During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly.”
