Donald Trump made a mocking impersonation of UK prime minister Keir Starmer after he previously went after the French president.

The president was speaking during a lunch at the White House, and criticized Starmer over the UK prime minister's response to the US and Israeli war in Iran.

US and Israeli forces attacked Iran on February 28, and Iran has since responded with missile attacks across the Middle East.

The Islamic Republic also closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20 percent of all world oil shipments pass.

This in turn has led to oil prices spiking to over $100 a barrel, which has a knock on effect on the world economy.

Trump has previously been critical of US allies in Europe over their not backing US military action against Iran, and has now hit out at Starmer, putting on a mocking voice as he impersonated the UK prime minister.

The US president previously asked the UK to send its 'two, old, broken down aircraft carriers' to the conflict.

Speaking to the conference, Trump said: "I asked UK who should be our best [ally]. The King is coming over here in two weeks, he's a nice guy, King Charles.

He added: "[Britain] should be our best but they weren't our best. I said [to Starmer] you have two, old broken down aircraft carriers, do you think you could send them over?"

Trump then spoke in an exaggerated, weak voice as he impersonated the UK prime minister telling him: "Ohhh I'll have to ask my team."

He continued: "I said you're the Prime Minister, you don't have to," before saying that Starmer had told him: "No, no, no, I have to ask my team. My team has to meet, we're meeting next week."

Trump recalled how he had then told Starmer: "But the war already started. Next week the war's going to be over...in three days, my prediction."

The incident happened on April 1, when Trump's speech was put out on a livestream, though the meeting itself was not open to members of the press.

Instead, reports have said that it was the White House which uploaded the stream of the incident onto YouTube.

The White House would reportedly make the recording private on YouTube, meaning that it is not visible, but this was not in time to prevent Bryan Metzger, who works as a senior politics reporter Business Insider, downloading it and posting it to X.

It came after Trump also mocked a 2025 video of French president Emmanuel Macron appearing to be shoved in the face by his wife Brigitte, saying: ""He's still recovering from the right to the jaw."

Macron called the remarks 'neither elegant nor up to standard'.

A spokesperson for the White House told the Daily Mail: "President Trump has made his disappointment with the United Kingdom and other NATO allies clear, and as the President emphasized: 'The United States will remember'."
