Donald Trump has inadvertently drawn attention to calls for his own impeachment while reacting to a controversial video online.

Trump had been addressing an ongoing controversy about a video posted by six members of the Democratic Party.

In the clip, the politicians remind members of the US armed forces that they can refuse to carry out an order if that order goes against the US Constitution.

Democrats posted the video amid growing concerns over Trump's deployment of the National Guard across the US, as well as threats to deploy the military within the US.

Trump has faced mounting criticism over these deployments and reacted furiously to the video addressing members of the US armed forces.

But in a rant posted on social media, Trump appeared to accidentally draw more attention to people who were calling for him to be impeached.

One of the posts the president shared included a screenshot of retired naval officer Sen Mark Kelly, who was one of the six Democrats in the video. However, closer inspection revealed the account was an anti-Trump account.

It even had the not-so-subtle name 'Impeach Trump a 3rd Time'.

Not only that, but the account posted calls for a 'blue wave in ‘26', referring to the upcoming midterms, as well as images of burning MAGA hats.

Responding to the post, left-wing account Patriot Takes posted: "Uh oh. Trump accidentally boosted anti-Trump account ‘Impeach Trump a 3rd Time!'"

Trump has been carrying out an extended online campaign against the six Democratic lawmakers who featured in the video informing armed forces they didn't have to carry out illegal orders.

The 90-second video featured the Democratic politicians saying: “Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this constitution.

“And right now, the threats to our constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home.

"Our laws are clear, you can refuse illegal orders, you can refuse illegal orders, you must refuse illegal orders. No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our constitution.”

Trump reacted furiously with a series of rants on his social media platform Truth Social, including calling the video 'SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH'.

In an alarming move, Trump also shared a post from another account on Truth Social saying: "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD."

The president appeared to subsequently tone down his reaction in an interview on Fox News, saying: “I’m not threatening death, but I think they’re in serious trouble."
