It's one of the biggest questions humans will ever face - do aliens exist? And, will we ever encounter them?
For centuries, we've wondered if we're alone in the universe, and while many scientists are adamant that there are aliens out there, we're yet to find them.
Or so we think.

According to one declassified CIA report, aliens apparently do exist. In fact, there could be two alien bases here on Earth.
It all started in the 1970s and 80s when the CIA launched experiments with people who believed they had psychic abilities in understanding information about distant objects.

It was part of the CIA's Stargate program, which recruited those with psychic skills during the Cold War.

The experiments were known as remote viewing and in one report, called the 'Description of Personnel Associated ET Bases' an individual was asked to explain what they had perceived.
In the doc, alien bases in Alaska, South America or Africa and on Titan were reported.
"So far have run into three types of entities associated with bases at various locations within the solar system," they wrote.
The individual also claimed to see 'entities' in the described locations, including one with a 'very unhuman' appearance.

Meanwhile, on the Titan base - which is Saturn's largest moon - the test subject claimed there were human scientists working on various different projects.

In the doc, there are a number of sketches from individuals who were asked to describe the locations.
One appears to be a rocky mountain, interpreted as Mount Hayes in Alaska, which has notoriously been the focus of many UFO sightings.

Inside the base, the individual described one 'entity' as at a console working.
They reported: "The entity at the console appeared to be in human form but lacked definitive features."
The Stargate program began in the early 1970s but by 1995 it had been shut down due to its inability to provide reliable results.

While the doc might not yield anything too significant, there has been some interesting developments regarding potential alien life.
K2-18b is a planet that orbits a red dwarf star in the constellation Leo.
It's around 2.6 times the size of Earth and was discovered 10 years ago by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope.
While water vapour has already been discovered in K2-18b's atmosphere, the James Webb Space Telescope has recently detected gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, and notably, dimethyl sulfide.
Professor Nikku Madhusudhan told The Sun that 'there is no mechanism in the literature that can explain what we are seeing without life'.
"It’s a question humanity has been asking for thousands of years. It’s a shock to the system. It takes time to recover from the enormity of it," he said.
