Charlie Kirk’s death in public sent ripples throughout America, however, the commentator had spoken about his potential murder during an event.

Charlie Kirk’s murder stunned the US as the often-controversial republican commentator was speaking at a Utah Valley University event on September 10.

Video footage from Kirk at the event showed the Turning Point co-founder speaking with the crowd about gun violence before he was shot.

Following the incident, the FBI announced that they were investigating and within a few days confirmed that they had arrested an individual who they believed was responsible for the shooting.

Since then, Kirk’s fans and critics have sifted through many of his interview and chat events to get a greater understanding of the commentator.

One video has now begun to do the rounds on social media and shows Kirk speaking on August 21 for the Alex McFarland Speaker Series at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach.

During this talk, guests came to the mic with questions and comments for Kirk and public Christian speaker McFarland.

One woman raised the point of the death penalty and Kirk’s response has proved eerie to some as he speaks about the possibility of being murdered himself.

While not a prediction that he would be killed, Kirk went into detail regarding his interpretation of Christian ethics surrounding capital punishment.

Explaining his support for the death penalty after a person had killed someone and answering the woman’s question, Kirk said: “When you take another person’s life you have already taken your own life.

“If someone were to murder Alex or murder me, they have already murdered themselves in that action.

“They have already bestowed that punishment upon themselves, we are simply completing the task.”

Kirk went on to dismiss any potential reasoning to prevent that person’s life being taken as simply ‘liberal sob stories’.

He also made sure to clarify that there was a clear difference between killing and murder.

Following Kirk’s death his wife, Erika Kirk, has spoken out both in a statement and during her husband’s funeral.

In a move that stunned many, she expressed that she had forgiven Kirk’s murderer.

During her speech, she said: “On the cross, our savior said: 'Father, forgive them for they not know what they do'.

"That man, that young man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did, and it is what Charlie would do.

"The answer to hate is not hate. The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love, love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us."
