Congressman Tim Burchett has said that if Americans knew as much he did about aliens then the country would become 'unglued'.
It was recently announced by Donald Trump that he was ordering the White House to unseal government files about aliens and UFOs.
The president declared on Truth Social back in February: "Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters."
One person who claims to know what kind of things are in the files is Burchett.

Discussing the matter on Newsmax, the Republican said: "I've been briefed by just about every alphabet agency there is. And, I'll just say this, if they were to release the things that I've seen, you'd be up at night, worrying about, thinking about this stuff."
He went on to allege that he'd recently been briefed on a matter that would have cause America to become 'unglued' it was has revealed.
"This country would've come unglued, I think, if they [the public] would've heard all that I heard," Burchett continued. "They would demand answers."
From Burchett's remarks, you would think that he doesn't want the files to be revealed, but he went on to says in his Newsmax interview that 'the public has a right to know'.
He added: "It’s your tax dollars. Let’s get it out there."
Burchett has previously tried to get Congress to more formally entertain the existence of aliens. He said at the time that he issue was important because people had been approaching him about it despite the 'risk [to] their reputations and careers', PEOPLE said.
According to the news outlet, since Trump's announcement in February, the government have registered domains for aliens.gov and alien.gov. Neither are active pages yet.
When PEOPLE approached the White House for comment, they simply replied: "Stay tuned!"
Like Burchett, Michael Gold, NASA's former associate administrator of space policy and partnerships, has celebrated the idea of the government releasing files it has on aliens.
"The fact that we’re discussing that the administration is reviewing files, releasing data via websites is a real accomplishment," he said, per The Guardian.
"We should thank the administration for supporting transparency and taking the issue seriously. It’s an accomplishment we should celebrate."
