Here are the ten strangest items the The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will allow globe-trotters to bring through security across US airports.
Whatever you think are some of the weirdest but permitted items a person can bring through airport security, I'm telling you, you're wrong. I mean, all travelers are going to have a passport or some form of ID on them, while the likes of toiletries and items of clothing could also be making their way through if they haven't been left in the checked-in luggage.
Then we have the straight up illegal stuff like drugs, weapons... oh yeah, and that one passenger who tried to bring animal parts onboard.
But if you're wondering what items take the crown for the weirdest item that you can actually take through security, you'll want to take a look at this bizarre list.
Antlers
To be honest, I would imagine the vast majority of us do not have any need to bring antlers on vacation with us, but if that's your jam, then it's actually an option.
Advert
"You may transport this item in carry-on or checked bags," the TSA explained. It is, of course, important the antlers are not massive, however, as they would need to fit in the overhead lockers.
The TSA advises: "For items you wish to carry on, you should check with the airline to ensure that the item will fit in the overhead bin or underneath the seat of the airplane."
Laser hair remover
Yep, if you wish to take a laser hair remover with you on your travels, it's permitted in both hand and checked-in luggage.

Could this really come in handy? Could you not just laser before you travel? I guess we'll never know.
Light sabers
If you've ever wanted to live your fantasy of being in the Star Wars universe, then you can do so while sipping a cocktail on a stunning Greek beach. It's what dreams are made of, right?
The TSA say on their official page: "Sadly, the technology doesn’t currently exist to create a real lightsaber. However, you can pack a toy lightsaber in your carry-on or checked bag. May the Force be with you."
Live coral, fish and lobster
Ever thought of bringing a live coral, fish or lobster onto a flight? Well, pending an inspection by TSA staff, then it will be permitted.

Both live fish and coral must be 'in water and a clear transparent container', while a lobster must be transported through security 'in a clear, plastic, spill-proof container', the TSA say.
Microwave
Just in case you get peckish during a flight, or you traveled to another state just to get a good deal on a microwave, luckily for you, it can be on hand as TSA officers will allow the kitchen appliance through security.
However, the travel rule-makers have warned airport-goers to check with their airline before lugging such a big item to the departure gates.
Tattoo guns
Unless you're a tattoo artist, it's probably very unlikely the average tourist will be bringing a tattoo gun onboard.
However, it is permitted if a certain set of 'special instructions' are met.
The TSA explains: "Devices containing lithium metal or lithium ion batteries should be carried in carry-on baggage. Most other consumer devices containing batteries are allowed in carry-on and checked baggage."
Toy guns and weapons
While such items may be permitted in hang luggage and through security, the TSA recommends travelers pack in checked baggage.
However, they note: "Squirt guns, Nerf guns, toy swords, or other items that resemble realistic firearms or weapons are prohibited."

And it should perhaps be no surprise that 'replicas of explosives, such as hand grenades' are not allowed. Probably for the best, that one.
Cowboy spurs
Because they are not the most comfortable item of footwear, not many will be donning cowboy spurs at the airport.
But if you do fancy wearing them, have at it because the TSA certainly aren't going to stop you.
Balloons
I'm pretty sure you can buy balloons in any country, but just in case you simply couldn't leave these balloons at home, you can take them through security, just don't blow them up or TSA will have to burst your... well, balloon.
Body armor
While it's not really essential for that summer holiday to the Bahamas, you can pack body armor if you wish.
The TSA notes: "Generally, body armor is allowed in carry-on or checked bags. Please note however that even if an item is generally allowed, our officers make the final decision on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint."
Honorable mention: The Magic 8 Ball
If you ask me, this should be an essential in all our luggage. If you agree, then add it to the bag because the TSA has said it's a-okay.
TSA website says: "For Carry-on bags: We asked the Magic 8 Ball and it told us…Outlook not so good! For Checked bags: We asked the Magic 8 Ball and it told us…It is certain!"
