A full-time content creator has broken down how much he earns every month through his life on social media, and the figures might surprise you.

Brian Morr makes a living working as a Lifestyle and Fashion Creator in New York City, where he shares posts about his outfit choices, love life, approaches to health, and general insights to his days in the Big Apple.

The creator has racked up more than 76,000 followers on Instagram, as well as another 71,600 on TikTok, and earlier this month he decided to open up about the realities of his earnings as an influencer.

In a post on Instagram, Brian explained that he 'loves' transparency, so he wanted to break down how much money he'd made each month throughout 2024.

The New Yorker explained he'd had a tough year, saying it 'definitely wasn't [his] best showing', and was in fact his 'lowest performing year since 2017'.

Brian then took viewers through his earnings month by month, beginning with one surprising revelation for January 2024.

As he settled into the new year, Brian revealed that he earned absolutely nothing through content creation in January.

Things picked up as the year went on, and he earned $7,400 in February, $4,400 in March, $6,000 in both April and May, and $4,000 in June.

July was another slow month for Brian as he earned $0, before building back up to $3,200 in August.

September brought in nothing for Brian, then he rounded off the year with $7,600 in October, $1,200 in November and $2,000 in December.

In total, the content creator earned $41,800 - almost $20,000 less than the average base pay for employees in New York City, according to Glassdoor. As one viewer asked how Brian managed to live in New York City on $40k, he revealed he 'had a lil side gig' to help boost his income.

As he reflected back on his earnings from the previous year, Brian wrote: "Thankfully this year I’ve put my butt I’m overdrive and we’re already banking almost half of what we made in 2024 so it’s shaping up to be much better year fingers crossed! Thank you again for the views, likes, comments, shares and saves on my content. Just think of it as you’re contributing to a small business."

Brian has been praised for being honest about his income online, with commenters saying they 'love' the transparency and describing the post as 'amazing'.

"Love this!," one person commented, adding: "Youre doing what u love ! which is priceless [sic]."
