Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash announced last week that his stepdaughter had died, sparking a wave of sympathy and tributes.

Writing on Instagram on July 19, Slash confirmed that his stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight had died at the age of 25 in Los Angeles.

Widespread speculation has continued since the announcement, but Slash’s statement insisted she died peacefully.

The rock music star's full statement read: “Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.

"The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss."

According to a New York Post report, the autopsy of Knight has been completed - however, details of her death have not yet been released.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner records state that the cause of death has been deferred in order for additional tests to take place.

It is not clear whether these tests have already begun or when they will be completed.

Tributes have started flooding in on social media since the announcement of her death.

In addition to being a talented tattoo artist, Lucy-Bleu also worked as a day to day manager at Electric Lady Management, according to LinkedIn.

One X user wrote. “I loved her tattoo work, so unique. The world is def a sadder place without her in it,”

“This whole situation is devastating. I don't have a child but I imagine the pain of losing one is excruciating. I wish strength to family and friends at this painful time. RIP,”another commented.

"This is so heartbreaking.. I can’t imagine what you guys are going through right now,” wrote another,” a third added.

Knight’s mother Meegan and Slash first dated in 1989 before eventually separating only to get back together in 2015.

While Slash was not Knight’s biological father, the guitarist came to see her as one of his children.

On July 21, Slash also announced that he would be cancelling a number of dates from his upcoming tour.

A statement read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour regrettably has to cancel the below performances. Refunds will be available at points of purchase."
