Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called out Elon Musk directly in a public Twitter poll, following the SpaceX CEO’s earlier comments about the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Earlier today, Musk had offered up what he felt were the four proposals for ‘Ukraine-Russia Peace’, which included redoing elections of annexed regions, but this time under ‘UN supervision’, and formally recognising the Crimean peninsula as Russian territory.

His ideas were formatted as a poll, with Twitter users given the option of voting 'yes' or 'no'.

“This is highly likely to be the outcome in the end – just a question of how many die before then,” Musk said in a follow-up post, adding: “Also worth noting that a possible, albeit unlikely, outcome from this conflict is nuclear war.”

But the poll didn’t go down so well with everyone, including Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Melnyk, who told the billionaire: “F**k off is my very diplomatic reply to you @elonmusk.”

Now President Zelenskyy has also called Musk out, tagging him in a Twitter poll, asking the world: “Which @elonmusk do you like more?”

The two options to choose from were ‘One who supports Ukraine’ or ‘One who supports Russia’.

At the time of writing, the first choice is very much in the lead, with around 91 percent of the vote.

Musk's poll, meanwhile, saw just 36.9 percent of users voting in favour of his suggestions with 21 hours to go.

It's not the first time the Tesla boss has used Twitter to get involved in the conflict, either.

Back in March - just weeks after the invasion began - Musk bizarrely took to the platform to challenge Russian President Vladimir Putin to a fight.

Using the Russian alphabet to write Putin's name, Musk wrote: "I hereby challenge Владимир Путин to single combat. Stakes are Україна [Ukraine]."

In a later tweet, Musk tagged the Twitter account of the President of Russia, asking: "Do you agree to this fight?"

The Tesla CEO also sent shipments of a satellite-based internet system to Ukraine to help make the internet service more reliable in certain areas which have been badly affected by bombing and fighting.

In response to Musk's support, Zelenskyy video-called the billionaire thanking him for his help and inviting him to Ukraine once the war is over.

On Twitter he wrote: "Talked to @elonmusk. I’m grateful to him for supporting Ukraine with words and deeds.

"Next week we will receive another batch of Starlink systems for destroyed cities. Discussed possible space projects. But I’ll talk about this after the war."
