NATO chief Mark Rutte has issued a chilling prediction about how World War 3 will begin, as conflicts escalate around the world.
Ever since the 2025 NATO summit took place in The Hague in the Netherlands, there has been a lot we’ve heard about Rutte.
The event sees heads of state from NATO countries come together to discuss world security topics, and during one of those talks, NATO Secretary General Rutte referred to Donald Trump as 'daddy'.
While it was in a metaphor for the current tensions between Israel, Iran and the States, that didn’t stop people from turning it into a meme.

Trump has also been in the news quite a bit too after he swore in an interview after being asked about Iran and Israel reportedly breaking their ceasefire.
While he’s been involved in peace talks with those two Middle Eastern enemies, he was also very active in attempting to facilitate Russia and Ukraine’s ceasefire.
While neither country has been particularly keen to meet the terms of such a peace deal, this could actually spark the beginning of a catastrophic war on Earth.
This comes after Rutte warned just how WW3 would begin, and it includes the actions of one of the warring country’s leaders.

He explained that the next war will begin with both China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin carrying out invasions.
Rutte suggested the combined attacks from both leaders could trigger a world war and also put the Earth right on the edge of armageddon.
According to the NATO chief, he predicted that China would start by attempting to take over Taiwan, while the Kremlin leader would attack NATO territory at the same time.

Rutte told the New York Times: “Let's not be naïve about this.
“If Xi Jinping would attack Taiwan, he would first make sure that he makes a call to his very junior partner in all of this, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, residing in Moscow, and telling him, ‘Hey, I'm going to do this, and I need you to to keep them busy in Europe by attacking NATO territory’.
“That is most likely the way this will progress, and to deter them, we need to do two things.”
Rutte added: “One is that NATO, collectively, being so strong that the Russians will never do this.

“And second, working together with the Indo-Pacific - something President Trump is very much promoting, because we have this close interconnectedness, working together on defence industry, innovation between NATO and the Indo-Pacific.”
However, Russia today hit at the NATO chief, claiming he had 'gorged on too many of the magic mushrooms beloved by the Dutch', and warned that he could look forward to residing in a Siberian camp.
Rutte also claimed that there is an ‘enormous geopolitical challenge’ happening right now.

He said: “And that is first of all Russia, which is reconstituting itself at a pace and a speed which is unparalleled in recent history.
“They are now producing three times as much ammunition in three months as the whole of NATO is doing in a year.”
He added: “This is unsustainable, but the Russians are working together with the North Koreans, with the Chinese and Iranians, the mullahs, in fighting this unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine.
“So here, the Indo-Pacific and your Atlantic are getting more and more interconnected. We know that China has its eye on Taiwan.”
