JD Vance has snapped back after California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized him for his family trip to Disneyland.
Videos and photographs of the former Ohio rep went viral after he was spotted at Disneyland with his family over the weekend.
Vance, his wife Usha and their two children could be seen enjoying the amusement park on Saturday - all while Donald Trump's aggressive immigration crackdown was being played out across Los Angeles.
The Vance family trip was marred by protesters and also apparently hit a nerve with Newsom.

The governor wrote in his sarcastic post on Twitter: "Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t."
Newsom made the jab as he was addressing lawsuits the state is currently facing on top of a challenging raid on undocumented migrants at a marijuana farm.

However, Vance simply wrote back: "Had a great time, thanks."

Around 150 protesters were at the park to slam the vice president while other demonstrations were taking place in Anaheim, the center of recent immigration raids just a few miles away from Disneyland.
“No family vacation while we deal with family separation,” one protester sign read alongside a photograph of Vance’s face.

More demonstrators even went to the nearby Grand Californian Hotel where the Vance family were rumored to be staying.

Meanwhile, Newsom has been in a longstanding feud with Trump and his government ever since he took to office for a second term on January 20.
Tensions only boiled over even further in June when Trump ordered the National Guard, against Newsom's wishes, to try to tackle anti-ICE protests that became unruly.

The district, that includes parts of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange and Tustin has seen rampant immigration raids in recent weeks in what protesters have called 'racial profiling' of people in Latino communities.

Last week, more than 200 alleged illegal immigrants were detained at a weed farm in the state and Trump gave federal agents permission to also arrest protesters he dubbed 'slimeballs' who were awaiting at the site ahead of the raid.

However, a judge blocked Trump's order for arrests, citing its unconstitutionality.
Orange county officials were briefed about the Vance's trip earlier this week which Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento said to KTLA comes 'at a time when trust in government feels fragile.'

Sarmiento added: "I welcome any policymaker to visit, listen, and witness the hard-working immigrant communities that make our county strong.
"I respect the office, but I can’t respect policies that hurt our people."
