Eric Trump has claimed his father's presidency has cost the family billions of dollars, as he made a major hint about his future.
President Donald Trump is currently serving his second term in the White House, and in that time he's built a brand for himself, developing a devout following that has proved resilient in the face of adversity.
The 79-year-old has long tinkered with politics, but for most of his life he was happy enough running the family business which was passed down to him, 'The Trump Organization' - which was founded back in 1927.

However, in 2015 he launched his presidential campaign, and since then life for the Trumps hasn't been the same.
Eric, the second son of Trump and his late ex-wife Ivana, was asked by the Financial Times whether he would stand for presidency when his father's term comes to an end.
The 41-year-old replied: "The real question is: ‘Do you want to drag other members of your family into it?’

"Would I want my kids to live the same experience over the last decade that I’ve lived? You know, if the answer was yes, I think the political path would be an easy one, meaning, I think I could do it - and by the way, I think other members of our family could do it too."
He was then pressed on the subject again, being asked whether the 2024 election would be the last that a presidential ballot paper has the name 'Trump' written on it.
"I don’t know... Time will tell. But there’s more people than just me," Eric said.
He added: "The question is, do you want to do it? And do you want to subject the people that you love to the brutality of this system? And I’m not sure if I can answer that question yet."

In the decade that has passed, many would argue that Trump, a father-of-five and grandfather-of-11, has become the most well-known person in the world. However, that fame doesn't necessarily come with popularity.
So that has brought about more of a challenge for his kids - something Eric isn't sure whether he'd want for the two children he shares with his wife Lara.
"If there’s one family that hasn’t profited off politics, it’s the Trump family," he told the publication, rubbishing claims that the Trumps have been making money off the back of his father's role in the Oval Office.

"In fact, I would sit there and say that we [would have] had many more zeros behind our name had my father not run in the first place. The opportunity cost, the legal cost, the toll it’s taken on our family has been astronomical."
