Donald Trump has claimed a new title and people have been left with some strong thoughts.

There’s nothing like being branded with a new prestigious title as a world leader.

Already, Trump has been called a businessman, a president and a man seeking peace between Russia and the Ukraine, but now he revealed Europe has its own moniker for him too.

Of course, the ode to Trump comes at a perilous time, considering the war that has been upon the two nations for some years now.

Just this month, Trump had been making moves to flesh out a cease fire, as the POTUS met with Putin in Alaska on August 15 to discuss the potential for an end to war.

While no agreement was reached, Trump claimed 'we have a very good chance of getting there'.

He then met with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on August 18 to talk about a ceasefire.

Leaders of Italy, Germany, the UK and more flew over to talk it out, digging deep into ways that Ukraine’s ceasefire deal is prioritized.

During the talk, NATO secretary general Mark Rutte, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, British prime minister Keir Starmer, Merz, Meloni, Finnish president Alexander Stubb and French president Emmanuel Macron talked peace.

While Merz and Macron had attempted to push Trump to negotiate with Russia and fell flat, the German chancellor said: “Let's try and put pressure on Russia, because the credibility of this effort, these efforts were are undertaking today, are depending on at least a ceasefire from the beginning of the serious negotiations, from next stop on.

“I would like to emphasize this aspect and would like to see a ceasefire from the next meeting, which should be a trilateral meeting, wherever it takes place.”

With so much work being put together to help the Ukraine come to some type of deal, Trump has claimed that he was given a new title on the back of the meeting.

He claimed that Europeans now refer to him as the ‘President of Europe’.

Speaking to reporters Monday August 25, Trump called it an ‘honor’ to receive the recognition from the entire continent.

“They jokingly call me the president of Europe,” he said during the Oval Office briefing to journalists in attendance.

“It’s an honor. I like Europe and I like those people,” Trump added.

He explained that Europe have ‘great’ leaders and his meeting with the different country’s representatives was something that’s never been done.

He said: “We’ve never had a case where seven, plus 28 – essentially 35, 38 – countries were represented here the other day.”

The title would indeed be a great honor to bestow upon anyone, however, those on social media have denied it ever being a thing uttered in European countries.

Many said the POTUS is lying, while others say it was probably a way to put Trump down.

One said on X: “As a contributor, currently sitting in Europe, I’d like to confirm that we don’t call him that. At all. Ever. Ever. There are many things we do call him but ‘president’ is not among them.”

Another wrote: “Europe here HELL NO we don't!”

Someone else warned: “They call you other things too.”

A user joked: “Are ‘they’ in the room with us right now?”

Another person said: “Yeah, because nothing says ‘respect’ like a joke title from leaders who can't stand you.”

In fact, according to a poll conducted in the EU’s eight largest countries and Denmark, 51 per cent of people say he is the ‘enemy of Europe’.

But until the world leaders admit they did call him the first POE (President Of Europe), we'll never know if the name was a joke or not.
