Jennifer Lopez cops backlash for posting shirtless photo of husband Ben Affleck on Father’s Day

Jenny from the Block put a spin on her Father’s Day tribute to her husband this year and fans were less than impressed.

Jennifer Lopez has thrown the traditional Father’s Day tribute out the window and instead opted for a somewhat steamier snap to honor her husband Ben Affleck.

The Mother star and Affleck wed last year to create a blended family made up of five children.

So, to mark Father's Day on June 18, the 'Jenny From The Block' singer shared a shirtless selfie of the Air actor to Instagram.

Alongside the risqué image, Lopez gushed about her new husband in an adoring and yet somewhat saucy caption.

"Daddy Appreciation Post," she wrote, using a patriarchal term that also can be used to refer to a hot guy.

Daddy indeed.

She continued: "Happy Father’s Day Papa. And Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Papas out there! We love you and appreciate you more than you will ever know."

The image alongside her sweet words left little to the imagination, although it did cut off just above his - ahem - 'daddy' equipment.

The carousel of shots also included two images of the newly married couple snuggling up together for selfies.

Lopez also included a short clip herself gushing about Affleck on The View last month.

"It brings tears to my eyes," she said in the video, as a montage of the pair began playing over the top of her words.

"He is honestly the best dad I have ever seen. He is so involved. He teaches me about how to interact with the kids sometimes."

The loved-up couple.

But not all were left impressed by Lopez's outpouring of love for her new husband.

One social media user said: "Best dad … not one pic of him with his kids or hers."

A second added: "And yet not one picture with his children."

While a third questioned: "Why would you post a picture of your husband half-naked and then talk about Father’s Day?"

Another user commented on her thirst trap of a post to point out that 'it’s Father’s Day, not Valentine’s'.

Others dubbed the post as 'weird' and 'cringe'.

Yikes.

But, no matter how pressed people were getting in the comments section, jLo is going to do whatever jLo wants to do.

And, despite a long wait, it seemed that she wanted to say 'I do' to her ex-fiancé turned husband in 2022.

The loved-up couple were engaged way back in 2002.

They had planned to wed in 2003, but ended up postponing the wedding before eventually going their seperate ways in 2004.

But that wasn't the end of the road for the pair, with the couple rekindling their romance in early 2021 and finally marrying in 2022. Twice.

Good for them.

And if Lopez wants to celebrate their love by sharing thirst traps with us, then who are we to judge?
