A sexual health doctor has revealed that there is one simple thing couples can introduce into their bedroom for an improved sex life.

When it comes to sex, people can have a lot of questions and not necessarily know where to turn.

Often people will turn to the internet or their friends and while they may get some solid advice from time to time, it can also often prove to be limiting.

Sexual health doctor Dr Mark Perera, spoke to LADBIBLE stories and answered a whole host of queries from the honesty box.

Dr Perera was asked what is a simple fix regarding sexual health that people don’t listen to but they should and had a simple answer.

Perea was pretty confident in his response, in one word, saying that ‘lube’ was the fix.

He explained: “Lubricant is everyone’s best friend. It makes sex so much more pleasurable.

“It allows things to slide a bit more easily and so you don’t have to worry about any kind of awkwardness.

“Sex obviously can be messy now and then anyway, so you’re just enjoying that experience and not having to worry about friction. It will change your life.”

But when it comes to the deed, people also have other key questions like how long foreplay should last.

Certified sex and relationship coach Gemma Nice has previously spoken about the importance of this.

Speaking to the Metro, she said: “Men can usually climax in around 5-7 minutes, whereas it typically takes a female anywhere between 20-30 minutes.”

She went on to note that male and female couples should be aiming or between 15 and 20 minutes of foreplay to maximize their arousal.

With men typically getting there sooner than women, it is important to make sure that this sexual warm-up goes both ways, to 'get her natural lubrication flowing and become aroused in a deeper state'.

She continued: “The longer you’re engaged in foreplay, the more aroused and relaxed the body will be.

"When your body is in a state of calm, the blood can then flow from the heart, lungs and brain and move down to the genitals, allowing the 10,000+ nerve endings there to be activated.

"This can then give a better overall sexual satisfaction to both partners."

So there you go, two things to keep in mind ahead of your next encounter.
