People are flooding to social media in joy after Wendy's revealed it's giving out free fries every Friday for the rest of 2024.

Yes, you read that right. Although, like all things in life these days, there are some T's and C's, so if you want to find out how to get your hands on some free fries from Wendy's next Friday, then buckle up.

The fast food chain may've come under fire earlier this year for revealing it would be making its food more expensive during busier periods of the day, but on Wednesday (15 April), Wendy's revealed it's latest campaign which is sure to ease tensions slightly - free fries.

It announced: "Kick off the weekend with a Hot & Crispy treat each week at Wendy’s."

With the promotion announced the day before the release of Taylor Swift's latest album release (19 April), a spokesperson for the company told TODAY.com: "Wendy’s knows all too well that some of those other guys’ cold, soggy fries just won’t cut it.

"Fans can enjoy a pick-me-up after a tortured night of memorizing new music and head into the weekend with Wendy’s Hot & Crispy Fries!"

But is there a catch? And if so, what is it?

Well, of course there is, but don't fret because it's nothing major.

If you want to take part in one of the 37 free-fry Fridays left of 2024, you'll have to make sure you have the Wendy's app downloaded.

Login or create an account and you can then redeem the offer in-store or on a mobile order. It adds, as per FOX Business: "[The offer] can be used in a mobile order or at a restaurant by loading the offer onto your card before scanning at the register."

Although, you have to already be making a purchase in store, you can't just pop in, grab a pot of free fries and then leave without spending a penny.

However, it's still a deal - HackTheMenu reporting Wendy's small fries cost $1.69, medium $1.99 and large $2.19 - so you could be saving as much as $2.19 all while still lining your stomach with some golden goodness.

And it's not taken long for people to flood to social media to respond to the deal.

One X user wrote: "ITS JUST ONE ORDER OF FRIES IN ONE ORDER THATS FREE BUT ANYWAY JUST TOLD MY MOM TO GET WENDYS LATER."

"Free FRYdays.... or FRYyeah! Whatever you wanna call it ...

@Wendys is doing the thang!" Another added.

And a third commented: "ABOUT TO EAT MY FREE FRIES AND MEAL FROM WENDYS YEEERRRR."

UNILAD has contacted Wendy's for comment.
