People are flooding to social media in stitches after a comedian spent a whopping amount on a party for his dog.

Prepare to see a TikTok probably unlike any you've seen before:

On 12 November, comedian Gabriel Iglesias threw a party for his Chihuahua named Rita.

However, this party was a party like no other - and no expenses were spared.

To be fair to Rita, being around 16 to 17 years old - 80 plus in dogs years - as a canine is a pretty big achievement, although I definitely didn't get $100,000 (£80,000) splashed at me for progressing from girlhood to womanhood - quinceañeras being parties typically held in celebration of a girl turning 15.

    The pawty cost around $100,000.

The TikTok video shows Iglesias' beloved pooch being rolled into her $100,000 shindig in nothing other than a custom pram - or 'carriage' if we're sticking with the theme of the evening.

Over 300 guests turned up to Rita's birthday celebrations, including 12 dogs belonging to other people.

Rita is sure to have had an amazing night, having been serenaded by a band as well as a DJ.

A man-and-dog act named Christian and Scooby also performed at the lavish event and guests and their pooches were presented with an array of snacks from carnitas, esquite, an aguas frescas station and bacon-wrapped hot dogs - the lavish party organised by One Call Events.

    There were over 300 guests.

Despite the entertainment and impressive display of food, Rita was the star of the show.

Not only was the pooch rolled in on wheels, but Iglesias' director of operations Marybel Pineda also designed the canine three custom-made outfits for the occasion.

Iglesias decided to throw the extravagant birthday bash because he's 'never had a daughter' and 'never had a kid of his own' so decided to go all out for Rita - and he has no regrets.

He told Today: "I went full blown and people say, 'Oh, you wasted money,' but it's like, no. I'm celebrating something that means the world to me.

"I'm not setting money on fire every day. But this particular night, yes. So I spared no expense. It was a very expensive night, but very memorable."

There was a band, DJ and man-and-dog performance act. There were over 300 guests.

Iglesias' followers have flocked to his TikTok post in stitches over the $100,000 quinceañera for Rita.

One user said: "No you didn't! Lol if this true, only you Fluffy. Lol."

"That’s when you know you have too much money," another wrote.

A third commented: "Can you adopt me and give me a quince like this? I’m older but my mom didn’t even care enough to give me one."

A final resolved: "This is absolutely beautiful. She deserves this and more!! Happy Quince Rita!!"
