Pedophile rockstar Ian Watkins sent his secret fiancée a disturbing letter before he was murdered in prison.

The former frontman of Lostprophets was convicted in 2015 of several heinous sexual offences against children, including attempted rape of an infant.

Watkins had served 12 years of his 29-year prison sentence when two of his fellow inmates reportedly slashed his throat on Saturday (October 11), after which the 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inmates Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43, have since been charged with Watkins' murder.

In the wake of his alleged murder, more information about the singer has been coming to light, as well as more of his alleged victims.

Now, it has been revealed that Watkins had a secret romance with an obsessed fan who wrote to him from prison for more than ten years.

As per The Sun, the 30-year-old woman was allegedly manipulated into buying her own engagement ring so that Watkins could pop the question.

Ellie, not her real name, from West Yorkshire, reportedly met Watkins backstage at a concert in 2010, when she was just 15 years old.

While the pair sent several letters to each other over the years while Watkins was incarcerated, he sent a chilling last note to his lover just the day before his demise.

A birthday card, which arrived at Ellie's home the day he was murdered, saw Watkins write: "Duchess. Didn’t think I’d forget your birthday, did you? They won’t keep us apart forever. Your Duke. IW."

He added: "I want you to know how much I have enjoyed annoying you all this time and how excited I am to continue this in the future. Happy Birthday.”

Another of Watkins' letters also reportedly discusses another alleged attack which occurred back in 2023.

Three inmates reportedly stabbed him during the incident, which saw Watkins write: "The whole incident with me was crazy. Stabbed in the neck eight times. Almost died, was touch and go.

“I had bleeds on the brain and have permanent spinal nerve damage. The weapon went in so far it hit my spine in my neck and scrambled all the nerves.”

"Thankfully, I’m still really hot," he continued. "Someone on the wing said I look like Grindelwald the other day from Fantastic Beasts.

"So whenever I get compared to Johnny Depp, it’s always a good day.”

Another letter also seemingly foreshadowed his own death, with Watkins writing: "I hate the weekends in here cause we are unlocked all day, so you never know what’s going to happen.

“That sh** happens to me on a weekend, out of nowhere, so I always have that in the back of my head.”

Ellie further confessed to the outlet that she was infatuated by Watkins, despite his alleged controlling behavior.

"He had a hold over me," she said. "I tried multiple times to move on, but it never worked. I couldn’t ever drop the thought of him.”

When she received the birthday card and learned about his death, she said she was 'inconsolable', adding: “I was so excited to get [the card], but a day later he was dead. I had no idea. I just fell on the floor. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t speak."
