Machine Gun Kelly claims he was electrocuted during performance

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly took the stage in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday

Machine Gun Kelly's recent performance was so 'electrifying' that he was actually 'electrocuted' on stage.

Well, that's according to the singer anyway, who says he was 'electrocuted' during Friday night's gig in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Taking to Instagram Stories, MGK shared a clip of the bizarre incident, which you can watch below:

The 32-year-old - who was doing a Waste Management Phoenix Open performance at Coors Light Birds Nest - was filmed dancing on stage with his long blonde locks while dressed in a long-sleeve white crop top and silver metallic pants.

While performing one the songs, smoke blasts and air cannons suddenly appear on-stage and MGK's hair randomly shoots up, giving the look of someone that's been 'electrocuted'.

“YOOO I GOT ELECTRICUTED (sic) AND MY HAIR STOOD UP,” the rapper wrote on Instagram stories.

We can't confirm whether Kelly was joking or not with his caption, however, TMZ reported that no medical professionals were needed on-stage.

This all comes after his famous partner Megan Fox says she was happy about her boyfriend not winning a Grammy.

Up against the likes of The Black Keys, Elvis Costello & The Imposters and IDLES - it was Ozzy Osbourne who ended up taking the Grammy home for 'Patient Number 9'.

On the red carpet, Kelly opened up to E! News exactly how he was feeling following the loss.

"I didn’t take the category home, and I almost feel like I asked for that lesson," he explained.

"I felt like I lacked self-love, and I was valuing myself so much on career accomplishments that I needed this… I need to appreciate what I already have, and once that self-love happens for me, things like the awards will come."

Taking to Instagram, the Jennifer's Body star then shared with her 20.7 million followers an appraisal congratulating the American rapper's 'grace and maturity'.

She posted: "Congratulations on being in the very small percentage of artists who have received a Grammy nomination.

"You have handled this process with a grace and maturity that I haven’t seen from you before and I’m so proud of you.

"Watching you grow into yourself and become a better man is an immeasurably more satisfying experience than watching you accept an award."
