Heavy metal music is typically, well, loud. Intense and powerful, it’s not traditionally the most calm, peaceful or cute sound.

And yet an absolute legend of a lead singer is being praised for his sweet interaction with a little girl.

Check out the video here:

Disturbed are currently performing with their Take Back Your Life Tour, and the band is known for songs such as ‘The Sound of Silence’ and ‘Down with the Sickness’.

David Draiman, 50, has been the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band since 1996.

And the band shared the clip of the heart-warming moment to TikTok, where they wrote: “Everyone who comes to a Disturbed concert is welcome and accepted and loved,” as well as adding the hashtag ‘familyaffair’.

In the video, Draiman can be seen encouraging the crowd to ‘say hello to Sophia’ before reassuring her: “It’s okay, baby, it’s okay. I didn’t mean to scare you.

“You okay? You promise?”

Draiman paused the show to speak with the child and the crowd.

Pausing the show to check in with the crying kid, who is standing at the barrier with her parents, he says to the crowd: “I love, absolutely love that Disturbed concerts have become a family affair.

“I love it. And this little girl has been singing her heart out the entire show. She knows so many of the songs.”

Draiman also revealed that he had his son backstage as he said everyone at the band’s concert is ‘welcome and accepted and loved’.

He then goes into a lengthy chat about the ‘world being hard’ but that at the concert, ‘we are one’.

Draiman made sure the kid was ok.

But eventually Draiman returns to speaking to young Sophia as he says: “Besides darling, we may be dark, but let me share a secret with you, sometimes darkness can show you the light.”

He even gets a fist bump from the child before returning to the stage and has been praised by viewers on Reddit.

One wrote: “I didn’t think I could like him more.”

While someone else said: “Draiman is a fantastic human being.”

Another also wrote: “Disturbed are a bunch of wholesome metal dads. They’re the best.

And one fan provided some context, which others said makes it ‘even better’.

They explained: “I was at this concert. What happened was the little girl was singing all the lyrics and David invited her to come onstage with him and she freaked and started bawling. He immediately stopped the show and went down to talk to her.”
