Horror movie fans are being urged to not watch this particular film alone.

Thousands of people across the US love a good scary movie and if you're someone who likes to tuck up in bed with a tub of popcorn and watch a horror on your own, you might want to recruit a friend for this one.

Not only is the 2021 horror movie said to be pretty damn scary, it's sure to set off anyone with thalassophobia.

Titled The Deep House, the film follows a young influencer couple who are seeking out haunted houses and 'deep below the surface of a seemingly tranquil remote lake lies a perfectly preserved family home'.

However, as you'd expect with a house submerged underwater, they soon discovered that there's an evil presence afoot.

And with 'limited oxygen supply and time running against them', they must find a way to escape the underwater house before it's 'too late'.

Holding your breath already? Me too.

While the movie is three years old, its been discussed on social media recently where one viewer went as far as warning others to 'not watch [it] alone'.

Others have since given their reviews of The Deep House. One person wrote on Facebook: "I really liked this movie."

A second person raved: "Really worth watching!!!"

Someone else warned: "My anxiety for closed spaces and deep water went up while watching this last year."

At the time of writing The Deep House has an impressive 74 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer.

One of the site's top critics described it as having a 'unique aquatic supernatural horror that offers a great twist on a typical haunted house story', while another said that The Deep House has an 'an eerie, otherworldly atmosphere and an exhilarating new twist to the haunted house'.

It should be noted that it hasn't had all good reviews, however.

It's Audience Score or Rotten Tomatoes stands at just 32 percent, and one person went as far as branding the horror as 'one of the worst movies I've seen in my life'.

Giving it 1.5 stars, another critic said: "I gave it an extra star because it was underwater which was the only interesting thing about it." Ouch.

If you're wanting to see the film for yourself and make your own opinions, The Deep House is currently streaming on Prime Video.
