Free-to-watch Tubi horror movie labeled 'most disturbing ever' as viewers declare 'new fear unlocked'

Viewers claim it's an 'anxiety inducing nightmare'

A disturbing horror movie that's free to stream is so disturbing, viewers are reluctant to recommend it to others.

We're spoilt for choice when it comes to streaming services, with the likes of Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and more.

But one often over-looked option is Tubi, a free-to-use platform which doesn't even require sign-up for you to get streaming.

It happens to be home to a deranged horror movie apparently responsible for giving viewers 'hour-long anxiety attacks'.

Marketed as a 'black comedy', people reckon it's anything but - and blame the film for unlocking a new fear deep within them.

That's not stopped the movie from earning decent ratings though, especially for such a polarizing genre.

I bet you're curious to know what it's all about...

Well, the story follows new parents Jesús and María (David Pareja and Estefanía de los Santos) who are struggling to adjust to life with a little one.

Adding to their stress is the purchase of a new coffee table. While seemingly minor, it turns out to be a major cause of contention between the couple.

On top of all this, Jesús is privately dealing with his neighbor's young daughter, who is bizarrely threatening to frame his as a pedophile.

Now, I don't want to go spoiling the entire movie here and to be honest, the less you know going in, the better.

So I'll just leave you with this: A seemingly ordinary day quickly descends into chaos in some gory and deeply disturbing ways.

Anyway, over on Reddit, one user had made a bold request for 'insane' movies to watch.

"And I mean absolutely unhinged," they continued. "I don't mind it being humorous, I just want something that'll make me say 'what the f**k' at the end."

Among the outpouring of recommendations was the cryptically-named horror I'm talking about, named The Coffee Table.

Reluctantly suggesting the movie, one social media user added: "Don't thank me later."

"Thought about suggesting that but felt too guilty in case they actually watched it," a second chipped in, warning: "Don't OP. I can't believe anyone would watch this more than once."

"I watched it last weekend and haven't stopped thinking about it since," a third admitted. "It's so well done, imo."

Be warned: the below trailer is pretty graphic in places - especially if you're squeamish. Don't watch it while eating, either.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, The Coffee Table was awarded a pretty high score of 88 percent from critics, across 33 reviews.

Audience members, meanwhile, scored it 73 percent over more than 100 ratings.

"Years ago I went down a rabbit hole looking for the most brutal film I could find to see if I could tolerate it," one viewer wrote. "It’s too bad at the time The Coffee Table had not been made yet."

Another claimed the movie gave them a '60 minute long anxiety attack', and, describing the themes of the story, admitted: "This is a whole new level. New fear unlocked. Would not recommend this to anyone..."

Someone else weighed in: "It’s not even really horror, but very horrific. More of an intense drama and boy, this one is INTENSE. Worth a watch."

Another simply summed it up as an 'anxiety inducing nightmare', which is pretty accurate.

The Coffee Table is available to stream for free via Tubi in the US, or with an Amazon Prime subscription in the UK. If you dare...
