The 'Sexiest Man Alive' once featured in a forgotten Prime Video drama with near-perfect ratings.
Jonathan Bailey has been awarded the honor of 'Sexiest Man Alive' by People.
Bailey, whose major roles include Bridgerton and Wicked, is the first openly gay man to be assigned the accolade.
He called it a 'huge honor' and 'completely absurd,' adding that he's 'incredibly flattered'.

The title was previously held by John Krasinski in 2024.
While Bailey's set to return to the big screen as Prince Fiyero in Wicked: For Good on November 21, fans can catch him in a British comedy series streaming on Prime Video.

Having originally aired on the BBC back in 2014, it may well have been forgotten or even missed by fans.

Bailey joins a stellar cast of British TV royalty in the series, which ran for three seasons.
The mockumentary-style comedy series satirizes the workings of the BBC, centering on Ian Fletcher (Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville), formerly in charge of the Olympic Deliverance Commission, who has been appointed Head of Values at the BBC.
His role is broadly defined as clarifying the BBC's purpose and positioning it for the future.
As he attempts to simply do his job, he is met with resistance and increasingly strange branding ideas from a PR firm led by Siobhan Sharpe (Death of a Unicorn's Jessica Hynes).

He must also face media scrutiny, reorganizations and the use of meaningless corporate jargon.
The show in question is called W1A, named after the BBC HQ's central London ZIP Code.
It is a follow-up to the BAFTA-winning series Twenty Twelve, which satirized the run-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Bailey plays Jack Patterson, a keen but somewhat naïve junior member of the BBC team, involved in social media.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who's David Tennant narrates the comedy.

The show has racked up a near-perfect 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes score across its three seasons.

Critics hailed it 'witty,' 'joyous' and 'brilliant'.
Viewers continued the discussion over on Reddit, as one said: "I love how it captures subtlety of the language, corporate interactions, and the sucker in me loves the little realistic sub plots too."
"It’s crazy to me this show doesn’t have a bigger following," a second added, as a third wrote: "I agree! It's a wonderful show."
Someone else concluded: "BBC have created some great comedy, but Twenty Twelve and W1A are close to perfect. Great scripts and perfect understated performances."

W1A is streaming now on Prime Video via BritBox in the US and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
