If you've seen A Minecraft Movie, you'll know all about chicken jockey.

The new Warner Bros. film hit theaters on Friday (April 4) and has already broken box office records.

It boasts an all-star cast, including Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Orange is the New Black star Danielle Brooks, and the one and only Jennifer Coolidge.

But the new film has sparked some controversy of late because of movie-watcher's behavior in cinemas.

What's happened?

Screens have been erupting into chaos at a certain part of the film, with Minecraft fans seen jumping up and down and throwing popcorn everywhere in videos shared online.

In one instance, local law enforcement were called in to handle the disruption.

With this in mind, theaters have issued a warning to people who plan on seeing A Minecraft Movie in the coming weeks.

What have theaters said?

British cinema Cineworld said in a statement: "We’ve been informed of reports of an online trend that includes making excessive noise during A Minecraft Movie.

"We would like to remind everyone to please be respectful to those around them by not making noise nor being on their phones during any movie. Failure to do so may result in ejection from the cinema."

Totally fair, if you ask me.

Another UK-based theater, REEL cinema, echoed similar sentiments and warned that the behavior seen in TikTok videos 'will not be tolerated'.

What are people getting so excited over?

While there's been much excitement for A Minecraft Movie in general, there's one scene in particular that's seeing movie-goers lose their minds; and that's the moment a chicken jockey emerges.

A chicken jockey is a rare enemy that appears in the game which comes in the form of a baby zombie riding a chicken.

Reportedly these tiny and kind of adorable baddies are so rare that the baby zombies only have a 0.25 percent chance of becoming a chicken jockey if there's no chickens nearby.

"If chickens are present, the chance increases to 0.4875 percent," a Minecraft-dedicated fandom page added.

Because this character is so extraordinary, when one appears in the film, die-hard Minecraft fans (and people just generally following the apparent trend) will literally jump up and down in excitement.

The whole thing has left people divided.

While some understand the hype and find the whole thing funny, others think it's unfair to act a certain way in the theater — theater employees who have to clean up the mess in particular.
