Reason why Minecraft movies are erupting in chaos during opening weekend leaving people outraged

I'm not sure about you, but I hate it when people are disruptive during a movie.

Whether that's two people talking or the blue light from someone's phone disturbing the blacked-out ambience a movie theater brings, these things can be super annoying.

One thing that caused some debates recently was people breaking into song while viewing Wicked — something which Elphaba actress Cynthia Erivo actively encouraged and hailed it 'wonderful' that fans were singing along.

But not everyone was on board with their movie trip turning into an impromptu karaoke session they didn't sign up to and branded it as 'unacceptable' behavior.

And another highly anticipated movie hit theaters over the weekend, that being A Minecraft Movie.

See the trailer here:

Based on the extremely popular video game, the film stars Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Wednesday star Emma Myers, and The White Lotus favorite Jennifer Coolidge,

The movie came out on Friday (April 4), and Minecraft fans flocked to their local cinemas to see the film for themselves — which helped it break box office records.

It raked in $163 million in North America alone, making A Minecraft Movie the highest ever first weekend total for a video game adaptation, beating The Super Mario Bros Movie, says The Guardian.

The film has caused some controversy though; not because of the movie itself, but the cinema-goers that have been watching it.

Footage doing the rounds online see theater-goers descend into chaos during one scene in particular.

In a now-viral clip, Minecraft fans roared with applause and starting jumping up and down while throwing popcorn everywhere in the process.

One screening became so unruly that police were called in to intervene, Dextero reports.

The moment they're reacting to? A chicken jockey's cameo, of course.

A chicken jockey is a rare enemy that appears in the game which comes in the form of a baby zombie riding a chicken.

As to how scarce a chicken jockey is, a Minecraft-dedicated fandom page said: "In a chicken-free environment, each spawned zombie has a 0.25 percent chance of becoming a chicken jockey; if chickens are present, the chance increases to 0.4875 percent."

While seeing a chicken jockey is a rare and exciting experience for Minecraft fans watching the film, people's overly excited reactions have left others divided.

Theater workers in particular have pleaded that people don't cause so much chaos.

One wrote: "As a movie theater employee, if you throw popcorn, you deserve to not only get kicked out. But to clean that sh*t up."

They added that it's been 'hell' at their job since A Minecraft Movie was released over the weekend.

Echoing similar sentiments, another person wrote: "Theatre employee here. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just don’t be obnoxious I worked both opening days and it has been a living nightmare."

Someone else said: "I actually kinda feel bad for the parents who just wanted to watch a movie with their kids."

Others were less bothered by the movie-goer's actions though and said that they were 'just enjoying the movie'.

"This is what the movie is meant for," insisted another.
