Fans have pointed out the uncanny connection between comments Jack Black made about Elle Fanning's unlikely crush on him, and one of the noughties movies which helped launch his acting career.
Much to the surprise of movie buffs, Fanning recently confessed during an interview with Vanity Fair that she had the hots for a very unlikely older gent.
The actress, who has starred in The Great and Maleficent, and is the sister of fellow notable movie star Dakota Fanning, admitted that her biggest crush was none other than Jack Black.
Despite being nearly 30 years her senior, and not typically lauded as a Hollywood hottie, Fanning said he was 'the hottest man I’ve ever seen in my life hot. Like sex on legs'.

Fanning's interview was released in September, but Black has now responded in a video posted to TikTok promoting his upcoming Anaconda reboot alongside Paul Rudd, describing Fanning's feelings as 'goblin dysmorphia'.

“Have you ever heard of body dysmorphia?” Black asked his co-star, briefly explaining that when most people look in the mirror, they often see an image that is worse than reality.
Instead, he joked: “She looks at me — which objectively is a goblin gremlin — and she sees this gorgeous creature,” adding that she had 'goblin dysmorphia'.
Despite his disbelief, Black was no doubt flattered by the beautiful blonde's praise.
“I appreciate it, but I have to close my eyes because I can’t quite process what I’m hearing there. But thank you, Elle," he said.
After hearing Black's response, fans couldn't help but link his comments to one of his most famous, and now most controversial, movies, Shallow Hal.
The flick sees the actor, 56, drawing the attention of Gwyneth Paltrow, who appears to him as a beautiful, slim blonde, while he is under a spell.
In the film, after being rejected for his shallow lifestyle, Black's character Hal Larson is cursed by life coach Tony Robbins, who gives him the gift of seeing people for who they are on the inside.
The spell leads him to fall madly in love with Rosemary Shanahan (Paltrow), whom he sees as a slim blonde, when in reality, she is much larger.
After hearing Black describe himself as a 'goblin', fans were quick to draw parallels with the film, which is now viewed with raised eyebrows from those in the body positivity movement.
One wrote: "I'm not sure why he didn't drop a Shallow Hal comment."

Agreeing, a second remarked: "I thought the same, but I'm pretty sure Shallow Hal is a touchy subject lol. Nobody from the show seems proud of that one."
"Had the same thought too! He's living Shallow Hal," another wrote.
While Black made clear he was grateful for Fanning's comments, he also turned his attention to her partner, 35-year-old Gus Wenner, who is the chief executive officer of his father's magazine, Rolling Stone.
Black joked: “And to the boyfriend, dude — we got no beef. We’re cool. I didn’t do nothing to deserve this attention.”
