Many are pointing out the same thing with the White House's response to the recently released Jeffery Epstein files.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York City in August 2019. The financier had been arrested earlier that year and died aged 66 while awaiting trial for charges related to sex trafficking.

While Donald Trump is a former friend of the Epstein, he has long maintained he was not aware of Epstein's crimes.

On Wednesday (November 12), documents were released by the Oversight Committee as part of its investigation into Epstein and convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell.

They released three separate emails in which Epstein mentioned Trump, with one claiming an individual known as 'Victim 1' 'spent many hours' with Trump. Another email from Epstein claimed Trump 'knew about the girls'.

The White House has since come out and claimed this unidentified victim is in fact Virginia Giuffre, who said before her death she didn't witness any wrongdoing from the president during her interactions with him.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt clashed with a reporter who asked why Republicans are requesting their own party member Lauren Boebert to remove her name from a petition to release the files.

Leavitt praised the transparency of the Trump administration saying the president has been more transparent regarding Epstein 'than any other administration ever'.

She continued: "This is not a coincidence that the Democrats leaked these emails to the fake news this morning ahead of Republicans reopening the government."

Many people online have pointed out such a response is certainly not a denial of the emails being real, more the fact they have been leaked.

"'Leaked the emails to the fake news.' So the emails are real, thanks," one person penned on TikTok, while a second added: "'Leaked these emails to the fake news.'"

Following the contents of the emails being leaked and Trump being named, Leavitt said in a statement provided to UNILAD: "The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

"The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and ‘couldn’t have been friendlier’ to her in their limited interactions."

The statement continued: "These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again."

This comes after Trump yesterday signed a bill bringing an end to the longest government shutdown in US history.
