The White House has responded after House Democrats released emails in which late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein claimed Donald Trump knew about his 'conduct'.

The documents were released by the Oversight Committee on Wednesday (November 12) as part of its investigation into Epstein and convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

The emails between Epstein, Maxwell and author Michael Wolff, sent in 2011, 2015, and 2019, suggest Trump was allegedly aware of Epstein's crimes.

One even claims Trump had asked Maxwell to 'stop' and that he knew about 'the girls'. Trump did not send or receive any of the reported emails and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

He was arrested again in July 2019 on fresh federal charges, but found dead while on 'suicide watch' in his Manhattan jail cell days later. His death was later ruled a suicide.

Trump has maintained he knew nothing about Epstein's crimes.

While the pair were once on friendly terms, they fell in the early 2000s after the financier began 'stealing' Trump's spa staff, the president previously told reporters.

What has the White House said?

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told UNILAD: "The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

"The ‘unnamed victim’ referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and 'couldn’t have been friendlier' to her in their limited interactions.

"The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.

"These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again."

What did the Epstein e-mails say?

In one email from April 2011, Epstein reportedly told Maxwell: "I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump," adding that an unnamed victim 'spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned', as per the New York Times.

Maxwell responded: "I have been thinking about that."

A 2015 exchange between Epstein and Wolff allegedly saw Wolff warn him that CNN might be asking Trump about the pair's relationship, 'either on air or in scrum afterwards'.

Wolff replied: "I think you should let him hang himself. If he says he hasn't been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you a valuable PR and political currency.

"You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt."

He continued: "Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he'll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime."

Finally, a third e-mail from Epstein to Wolff, sent in January 2019, sees the late sex offender claim Trump 'knew about the girls'.

"[Victim name - redacted] mara lago. [redacted]. trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever. . of course he knew about the girls as he asked ghislaine to stop," Epstein wrote.
