Netflix's latest true crime documentary follows the horrific stories of those whose ex-partners went to extreme levels following the end of their relationships.

It is so upsetting, in fact, that viewers are struggling to watch all the way through.

The Netflix show, which was released back in August, details ‘the dark side of love’ according to the synopsis, showing various horrible - and often times criminal - relationships that ended dangerously.

Titled Worst Ex Ever, the four-parter is a continuation of the series Worst Roommate Ever.

You can watch the trailer below:

Worst Ex Ever shot to the top of the Netflix TV charts upon release, with viewers still discussing the terrifying cases featured on the show.

Each episode covers a truly evil ex, with one, titled 'Dating the Devil', focusing on a monstrous abuser, while another, called 'Married to a Monster', features someone hiring a hitman after their wife left them.

Elsewhere, one man lied about being a cop went on to get his ex-girlfriend arrested on false charges after he abused her, while somebody else tried to frame their partner for murder in order to win custody.

With horror films, you can comfort yourself by remembering the terrifying details are mostly made up.

But with true crime documentaries, however, it's quite the opposite.

So it's no surprise that viewers have been struggling to sleep, with many left unnerved just one episode in.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one person admitted: "Watched worst ex ever on Netflix proceeded to not get any sleep last night... I cannot watch true crime stuff it terrifies me."

A second agreed: "Bro, the first episode of Worst Ex Ever on netflix is f*****g TERRIFYING this is not light watching this is appalling".

Another decided: "Can’t stop watching Worst Roommate Ever on Netflix... between this and Worst Ex Ever I am for sure never dating again".

Over on Reddit, one fan remarked: "Holy s*** this series was insane! ...Disappointed there were only 4 episodes."

While another said: "I've watched a lot of true crime, but every episode of this show had my jaw on the floor."

Worst Ex Ever is available to watch on Netflix now.
