A new addition to Netflix has split subscribers as some rated the action movie as '10/10' while others claimed it was 'terrible'.

The Roseanne Liang directed-film, which was released back in 2021, stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Taylor John Smith and Nick Robinson.

It follows Moretz as WWII female pilot Maude Garrett as she charters a flight with top secret documents alongside an all-male crew, but then encounters an evil presence on board the aircraft.

The movie reaches a tense climax as Maude must face an incoming air ambush while trying to control the evil onboard the airplane, and save herself and her crew as well as the precious cargo.

Watch the trailer for the film - called Shadow in the Cloud - here:

When it premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival, Shadow in the Cloud won the People's Choice Award for Midnight Madness.

The movie went on to gross just over $1 million at the box office upon its release the following year.

However, it's since received mixed reviews from viewers after landing on Netflix.

Writing in the Netflix Bangers Facebook group, one fan of the film praised it as they shared a screenshot of the film poster and wrote: "10/10. Suspenseful, scary, good acting, intriguing."

Others appeared to agree, as another viewer commented: "20/10. Even my picky 9 year old loved the movie."

A third added: "Pls support this amazing movie! A total women's empowerment movie!"

While someone else penned: "Loved that one! So unique that so much happened with us only seeing from her perspective in the gunner seat for over half of the movie."

However, not everyone thought it was worth watching, as others labelled it as 'terrible'.

One unimpressed viewer added: "Intriguing sure. I couldn't stop watching but not good, not even a little bit lol."

Another wrote: "Ppl have super low standards with movies. This movie tried to be like 3 genres in one and failed miserably at all of them."

"Disappointing movie that lacked substance, mishmash of ideas and not worth the time to watch - shame," posted one viewer.

This appears to be echoed on film review site Rotten Tomatoes where Shadow in the Cloud has a 32 percent audience score. Yet the movie did earn 77 percent critic score so make of that what you will.

If you want to check it out for yourself, Shadow in the Cloud is available to stream on Netflix now.
