A Netflix psychological horror is so messed up, viewers feel like their brains have been thrown 'into a blender' after watching it.

I don't know about you, but as the dark, cold winter continues, I'm desperately seeking escapism in the form of mind-bending movies.

Netflix's latest additions include an edge-of-your-seat conspiracy series and a chart-topping new Christmas flick starring none other than Lindsay Lohan.

But it's a five-year-old 'rollercoaster' thriller that subscribers won't shut up about.

Allison Williams - who horror fans will no doubt recognize from her roles in Get Out and M3gan - leads the movie alongside Dear White People's Logan Browning.

Williams is once-promising cellist Charlotte, while Browning plays Elizabeth, the new star pupil of Charlotte's old music school.

Now, one fan said the less you know about this movie - titled The Perfection - the better, so I'll keep it brief.

But the pair's paths cross when Charlotte is invited to Shanghai, China, by a former mentor.

The women embark on a messy night out, with a horrified Elizabeth waking up to discover maggots crawling under her skin.

This is just the beginning, with both their lives taking progressively more gory and sinister turns as the movie goes on.

If you want more, you can watch the trailer below:

Fans have been taking to social media to praise the movie, particularly its twisty nature and 'satisfying' ending.

Posting on X, one fan wrote: "OMG everyone watch The Perfection on Netflix because holy s**t this movie is a roller coaster ride that threw my brain into a f*****g blender and I loved it."

A second agreed: "There’s a Netflix thriller called The Perfection with the white girl from Get Out & the main character of Dear White People and it’s just as crazy as you’d think.

"It’s revenge, bug viruses, LGBT & other spoilers and I still don’t know what to tell you about it. WATCH IT".

One person admitted they were 'locked in' just 24 minutes into the movie, while another dubbed it 'the most what-the-f**k-is-happening-this-is-bonkers movie of the year.'

Many fans were quick to praise its 'satisfying' ending, as another admitted: "I screamed WTF so many times."

The Perfection impressed Rotten Tomatoes critics too, earning a pretty decent score of 70 percent.

Their consensus reads: "Led by a pair of compelling performances, The Perfection is a smart, gripping thriller that barbs its wild twists with cutting wit."

The Perfection is streaming now on Netflix.
