It's a common scenario that we've all gone through, which ultimately ends with us either scrolling for hours until something catches our fancy or just closing the TV altogether.

This could be a thing of the past, however, if these Netflix viewers are to be believed.

Yes, just typing a simple sequence of numbers into your search bar unlocks a whole cornucopia of TV and film - though it's only a particular genre.

If you're a fan of gory stuff, then why not type '9875' into the platform's search box and everything true crime is there for you to enjoy.

One viewer who figured it out raved online: "It works. Best way to find True crime on Netflix."

Another said: "I didn't think this would work this is really cool thank you."

Meanwhile, others face an issue with it.

"Peppa Pig also came up," one user wrote, while someone else also added: "I did it and Shrek Forever After came up."
