Netflix viewers have hyped up this forgotten comedy and urged other people to catch it while it is still on the streaming platform.
Netflix is full of a whole host of shows to watch, but very regularly, you still find yourself questioning what is worth your time.
I mean, how many times have you googled, ‘good things to watch on Netflix’ and hoped a stranger on the internet would be able to provide you with your next TV show or sleeper gem movie...

But just like most debates on social media about films and TV, some people take it as an opportunity to shine some light on films they feel didn’t get the love they deserved.
And to be fair, there is a laundry list of films that didn’t get their chance in the limelight.
Reddit users have praised this 2011 film, saying it remains 'underrated' despite featuring many cheeky and amusing gags.

The film is none other than the Greg Mottola-directed film Paul from 2011.
Paul features none other than the dynamic duo that is Nick Frost and Simon Pegg (yup, the very same from Edgar Wright’s 'Cornetto Trilogy').
While the film isn’t quite as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, it remains a great film for a fun time, according to viewers.
The film follows two British ‘nerds’ (Pegg and Frost), travelling across the US, who end up discovering an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who needs help escaping the planet.

It sounds weird, sure, but it also boasts great performances from Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, and Kristen Wiig, alongside Frost, Pegg and Rogen.
Writing on social media, one fan wrote: “It’s an underrated comedy for sure. The comedy is so clever at times.”

Another wrote: “It got a lot of hate when it first came out, so I put off watching it, I finally did about 5-7 years after release and it was a fun time,” while a third wrote: “I didn't know this movie existed except in passing knowing nothing about it until probably 2020/2021. Watched it once, and then proceeded to watch it 50 more times in the span of a couple of months lol.
"What a great movie, I loved it.”
Someone else said they were 'surprised to find it not very dated at all' and that 'most of the jokes hold up today', and another simply wrote: “Paul is more or less the unofficial fourth Cornetto movie.”
The film is currently available on Netflix US, but is set to leave the streamer on September 1.
