Christopher Nolan has a lot of films under his belt. but one film his fans think is underrated is set to be leaving Netflix very soon.

Christopher Nolan is one of the biggest names in the cinema-world and is one of the few directors who command attention from everyone from film buffs to casual viewers.

With a long history making hit films, from Memento to Interstellar, unfortunately, some of his works slip through the cracks. And one of those films that fans have argued is actually ‘underrated’ is currently on Netflix, but it won’t be for much longer.

So if you are a fan of Nolan, cinema, or just basically have a Netflix account, it might be worth checking it out to see how you feel about it.

While some fans have argued it is underrated, critics did seem to love it as it currently maintains an impressive 92 percent Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Some Nolan fans have argued it isn’t their favorite of his work, which likely contributes to less people being a fan.

Now before you start listing your favorite Nolan films and realize where this film falls, the underrated WW2 gem is none other than Dunkirk, released in 2017.

The film depicts the evacuation from France to the UK during World War Two, focusing on the perspective from soldiers at land, sea, and air.

In true Nolan fashion, the film isn’t told in chronological order, which made it slightly confusing for some film viewers, but delighted others.

The film boasted a heavy hitting cast as well, featuring Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Barry Keoghan, Mark Rylance, and some other familiar faces.

It also previously sparked vigorous debate amongst its critics, who aren’t fans of its pacing and, at times, lack of dialogue, but some people have insisted this only adds to the experience.

As the film was released eight years ago this week, many people on social media have again begun praising it and implored people to give it a watch while it is on Netflix.

One Twitter user commented: “Nolan turned war into poetry. Still one of the most intense theater experiences ever.”

Another added: “A movie which showed the human part of a war, it was heartbreaking to watch, well made !!!”

A third commented: “I had to watch this movie twice. At first it was boring, but on second watch I got the story. Absolute masterpiece!

With another simply adding: “Dunkirk (2017) Most underrated Nolan film.”

The film is reportedly leaving Netflix at the start of August, so best to give it a view while you can.
