The show aired on CBC before making its international debut on Netflix in 2018. All five of its seasons are available to stream, meaning there's plenty to get lost in.

At the heart of the story is Mr. Kim - 'Appa' - the strong-willed, opinionated father, and Mrs. Kim - 'Umma' - his nurturing but equally determined wife.
Together, they navigate life in a multicultural city while running their business and raising their two children: Janet, a fiercely independent photography student, and Jung, their estranged son trying to reconnect with the family after a troubled past.
Taking to the R/Netflix community on Reddit, one curious person requested a series people 'stumbled upon with zero expectations but ended up loving.'
"There are times you just press play on something random and then boom, you’re hooked," they said. "Wondering what Netflix series or movie took you by surprise in a good way?"
