Netflix subscribers have boosted a newly-added TV series well into the platform's most-watched charts just days after it joined.

If you're stuck for something new to watch, then it's a good job the streaming service shakes up its offerings every so often.

While it claims some of our favorites, the Netflix reshuffle also introduces us to TV shows we might not have considered watching before.

This British action drama has been scored '10/10' by Rotten Tomatoes critics, while fans have compared it to a Christopher Nolan movie.

I don't know about you, but I'm already sold.

The show stars Gangs of London's Paapa Essiedu as George Addo, a tech entrepreneur who's convinced he's losing touch with reality.

Why? Well, he finds himself re-living the same day, over and over again.

That is, until, a mysterious man called Archie (Anjli Mohindra) provides him a missing puzzle piece; a secret organization has harnessed the ability to reset time when the world faces extinction-level threats. Turns out, George is one of the select few to retain their memories after this happens.

At first, George embraces this new purpose: preventing global catastrophes. But when a personal tragedy strikes, he begins to question the morality of the organization's work.

The series in question is The Lazarus Project, which racked up 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes ratings as critics hailed it 'an imaginative, addictive watch'.

Since dropping on Netflix US on Monday (July 28), the show had rocketed to number five in the Top 10 TV shows charts by Wednesday (July 30).

How's that for a rapid rise to glory?

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, critics had nothing but high praise for the series,

Judy Berman, from TIME Magazine, weighed in: "It’s all as fun to watch as it is compelling to consider."

Meanwhile, Cristina Escobar from RogerEbert.com, penned: "The Lazarus Project has it all- a thoughtful exploration of moral questions, time traveling (of sorts), and plenty of suspense."

Fans scored the show an average 77 percent across more than 100 reviews.

While this might be lower than the critics' score, those who loved the show compared it to a Christopher Nolan project.

"This show is like if Christoper Nolan decided to make a series," one said, before adding: "Okay, so maybe not quite that level, but its getting there.

"I have no idea how somebody can imagine a story so intricate. I love it.

"If you find most TV predictable and uninspiring, then prepare to be excited."

Another social media user observed: "Well paced creative approach to sci-fi staple. Character development is just right in the first episode, allows connection while also leaving room for plenty of action."

Both seasons of The Lazarus Project are streaming now on Netflix in the US and NOW in the UK.
