If you're the sort of person to spend hours scrolling to find the perfect show on Netflix and you've finally settled on one particular cult classic series, we've got bad news for you...
You'd better get ready to binge watch, as the mind-boggling show from J. J. Abrams (Star Wars), Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) and Jeffrey Lieber (Lucifer) is set to be leaving the streaming platform far sooner than expected.
You've got your work cut out too, as this isn't a quick show to watch: its shortest season is 14 episodes, but the first three seasons have more than 23 episodes each!
Netflix signed a deal for the worldwide rights to the show - which stars Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway and Jorge Garcia -just last summer, and fans have been loving the chance to relive the ABC series from the beginning.

However, the rights weren't perpetual, and all good things must come to an end.

Lost tells the story of a group of passengers who survive a plane crash, only to become trapped on a desert island. It soon emerges not everything is as it seems.
Matthew Fox, Emilie de Ravin and Dominic Monaghan are other famous faces in the cast.

Viewers in all international regions, including United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico only have until August 15 to finish all six series.
Fortunately, the United States has a little longer before it leaves for good.
The show originally aired between 2004 and 2010, and the big budget, high stakes show had everyone on the edge of their seats (and made many people think twice about air travel).
Lost was previously on Netflix in the US in the 2010s, before moving to Disney+ and Hulu.

Then, all six seasons were added to Netflix on July 1 2024, and it instantly went into the top 10 on the streaming platform.
More than 880 million viewing hours were clocked up between July and December, which works out at 58.10 million views, but was beaten by Prison Break with 1.5 billion hours.
There is still a chance the rights could be renewed, but this doesn't normally happen.
In the United States you have until January 1 2026 to finish your binge watch, so prepare to finish the series over Christmas and New Year to get it all done, as it was licensed for 18 months.
