Netflix subscribers know the drill by now: just as you’re getting hooked on a new title, the platform reminds you who’s really in control.

Every few weeks, films and TV series are snatched away thanks to expiring licences, leaving fans with unfinished binges and a sense of déjà vu.

With another month almost done with, the frustrating dance is set to happen all over again in September.

The streaming platform is pulling 100 titles from its digital catalogue, including some firm fan favorites.

Among the losses is hit comedy drama The Good Place, which boats 97 percent Rotten Tomatoes ratings.

Starring Kristen Bell, it follows saleswoman Eleanor Shellstrop who finds herself in a heaven-like afterlife after passing away in a car crash.

Having lived a morally corrupt life, she soon realizes she was sent there by mistake and does everything in her power to remain in The Good Place.

The show ran on NBC between 2016 to 2020, spanning four seasons and a total of 53 episodes.

The Good Place landed on Netflix in September 2020 and has since pulled in an impressive 308 million hours of viewing between January 2023 and June 2025. But come September 26, it’ll be gone for good.

That said, you’ve still got a few weeks’ head start for one final binge - so get to it. You’re welcome.

Other major titles departing in September include the acclaimed World War II drama Band of Brothers, Ridley Scott’s gritty crime epic American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, and the animated cult favorite Bee Movie, which has become a pop culture staple thanks to its quirky humor and endless internet memes.
