Jenna Ortega will not be making a return for an upcoming Netflix project as she's missing from the trailer and cast list.

Film fanatics will know that Ortega has been involved in a lot of movies in recent years.

While she really made a name for herself in Tim Burton's Wednesday, she has also featured in the Scream franchise in recent times.

But one project Ortega will not be involved with going forward is a new series hyped up by Jurassic Park fans.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is the animated sequel series to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, which ran for five seasons from 2020 to 2022.

Ortega voiced character Brooklynn in the original series alongside the likes of Paul-Mikél Williams, Sean Giambrone, Kausar Mohammed and Raini Rodriguez.

Funnily enough all of their characters return for the new series.

However, Ortega's character appears to be killed off in the first 10 seconds of the trailer.

Netflix has since confirmed that Ortega's character Brooklynn will not be returning.

Ryan Potter is another actor who will not be reprising his role, with his character Kenji now set to be voiced by Darren Barnet.

Fans on social media have been left shocked by Ortega's absent, with one fan on X even dubbing it as 'crazy'.

Many have speculated Ortega's disappearance from the cast list may be due to scheduling conflicts.

The star's rise in recent years has led to her being involved in a lot of projects.

Miller's Girl is the actor's latest flick - something which has led to a bit of controversy.

In the movie - which landed on Netflix last week - Ortega stars as 18-year-old student Cairo Sweet, with The Hobbit favorite Martin Freeman starring as her college teacher, Jonathan Miller.

"A creative writing assignment yields complex results between a teacher and his talented student," a synopsis for the movie reads.

The R-rated movie is pretty steamy - leading to quite the stir in light of there being a 31-year age gap between Ortega and Freeman, 52.

Freeman has since come out and defended the film in the wake of it not going down well with fans.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Freeman described Miller's Girl as 'grown-up and nuanced'.

Noting his age gap Ortega, Freeman went on: "It's not saying, 'Isn't this great?' Are we going to have a go at Liam Neeson for being in a film about the Holocaust?"
