A raved-about TV series starring Dwayne Johnson is leaving Netflix in the coming days.
Johnson is best known for starring in blockbuster movies like Jumanji, Red Notice, Moana, Baywatch, and the Fast and Furious franchise, but has seldom dabbled in small screen roles.
He's made the odd cameo in shows like Wizards of Waverly Place, Cory in the House, and Star Trek: Voyager, but hasn't been a season regular on many programmes aside from his autobiographical comedy Young Rock.

There is, however, a long-forgotten series that Johnson starred in that fans insist is some of the actor's 'best work'.
That show is Ballers and Johnson plays Spencer Strasmore, an NFL player-turned-financial manager.
The five-season-long series dives deep into the world of sports representation. First airing in 2015, it drew to a close four years and 47 episodes later.
Ballers comes from Entourage producer Stephen Levinson, so if you liked that show there's a good chance you'll like this one too.

John David Washington (Tenet), Arielle Kebbel (The Vampire Diaries), Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), and Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore) also star.
People have wasted no time over the years to gush about Ballers and Johnson's acting in it.
"So I’ve been binging Ballers, and it’s such a wild show," someone gushed back in May, adding: "But, it’s full of so many powerhouse actors, and it’s honestly some of Dwayne Johnson’s BEST work."
"Dwayne Johnson's best acting performance is from his show Ballers," echoed another Ballers viewer.

A third went on: "Ballers is an A tier show. Probably Dwayne Johnson’s best work to date."

Raving about the show itself, someone else wrote: "Ballers with Dwayne Johnson really the best show on TV."
Somebody else tweeted: "Ballers on @HBO is the best new show on TV. Dwayne Johnson rocks! Pun intended."

Originally airing on HBO, Ballers landed on Netflix US in August 2023 — but its time on the streaming platform is coming to an end very soon.
When, I hear you ask? August 15, according to Screen Rant.
Ballers was reportedly canceled after its fifth season due to a decline in viewers. Per NME, the season one finale had 1.4 million people in the US tune in to watch, but this dropped to 0.6 million by the end of season four.
Ballers was definitely given a new lease of life when it landed on Netflix, however. Could this possibly spark Levinson to write up a sixth season?
