Netflix has confirmed a release date of 21 September for the final season of Sex Education with an awesome trailer.

It has been a long wait for fans of flagship Netflix show, with the most recent third season hitting the streaming service nearly two years ago.

Back in August 2022, it was confirmed that the fourth season was already in production and fans have had to wait a long time to get their latest Sex Education fix.

The beloved series first hit our screens back in 2019, launching the careers of a whole host of stars.

From Emma Mackey, who plays sardonic teenager, Maeve Wiley, who has since appeared in an array of Hollywood blockbusters like Barbie and Death on the Nile, to Sami Outalbali who played Eric's evasive love interest, Rahim, who has gone on to star in the critically acclaimed romance-drama, A Tale of Love and Desire - it's clear that this season of Sex Education is going to be like none other before.

Season four is heading to Netflix on 21 September.

Alongside the announcement of the show's return, it was confirmed a returning cast that includes Asa Butterfield (Otis Milburn), Gillian Anderson (Dr Jean Milburn), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric Effiong), Aimee-Lou Wood (Aimee Gibbs), Emma Mackey (Maeve Wiley), Connor Swindells (Adam Groff), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson Marchetti), Mimi Keene (Ruby Matthews), George Robinson (Isaac Goodwin), Chinenye Ezeudu (Vivienne Odusanya), Dua Saleh (Cal Bowman), Alistair Petrie (Mr Groff) and Samantha Spiro (Maureen Groff).

Luckily, it won't be too long before we see the stars in action, as September is right around the corner.

This final season of Sex Eduction is very much seen as a love letter to fans, with creator Laurie Nunn saying as the writers were working on season four, 'it became clear that this was the right time to graduate'.

The new series will be Sex Education's last.

The trailer itself released today (5 July) shows Otis taking to the forefront in front of all of his classmates at Cavendish Sixth Form College.

In the hope of re-opening his sex clinic, he gives a rather honest speech about how he can't stop thinking about sex.

But as Otis starts talking, we get a real taste as to the hilarious antics that are set to come with season four.

The final season of Sex Education will land on Netflix on 21 September.
